Overview

A Victorian mansion style establishment hosts the Ashanti Lodge Gardens. Located close to the foot of Table Mountain, the wooden sun deck and the garden of the Lodge offer views of the landscape.

Accommodations include bright dormitory rooms and private rooms. Some features normal bed or iron wrought bunk beds. All have a decor with designer touch.

Communal areas of the Ashanti Lodge Gardens include an outdoor swimming pool, a travel center, and the Kumasi Café with billiard. 24-Hour Front Desk can help with packed lunches, laundry service, and airport shuttle. Internet cafe available and charges are applicable.

Breakfast buffet and lights meals are available. The menu includes nachos and burgers as well as fresh crisp salads and quick toasties.

Longstreet with various restaurants, day and nightlife is about a 10 minute walk away.

Travel information

When driving from the airport or coming from the Garden Route, just continue along the N2 towards Cape Town city centre. Please make sure you follow directions to Cape Town as we have had newcomers go in the wrong direction. Continue on the N2 for about 10 minutes and as you come up to the mountain keep right and continue towards the city - following the signs. Take the De Waal Drive turn-off to the left when the road forks and continue driving around the mountain. Just off De Waal Drive you need to take the Mill Street turn-off. This will take you past a large shopping centre (Gardens Centre) on your left hand side and then you drive through two sets of traffic lights. The next road left (after the second set of lights at Upper Orange Street) is Hof St. It is just before the Mount Nelson hotel, so if you see that you know you have gone too far. We are two blocks up on the left hand side, a large yellow building.
